My Weirdo of a Dog (Haiku)
If I Were In Charge of the World
If I were in charge of the world
I’d cancel waking up before 7:00 AM,
all “new” Disney channel shows,
Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving, and also
bad pizza.
If I were in charge of the world
There would be More Ice Cream,
Happier French Bulldogs, and Nicer people.
If I were in charge of the world
You wouldn’t have negativity.
You wouldn’t have awkward conversations.
You wouldn’t have wasted money,
or “Buy One Get One 50% Off.”
You wouldn’t even have sales less than Buy One Get One Free.
If I were in charge of the world
Cupcakes would be a vegetable.
Friday’s would be apart of the weekend,
And a person who sometimes
forgot to take the keys out of their car,
And sometimes forgot to put away their laundry,
Would still be allowed to be
in charge of the world.

I Am a Broken Girl with a Hopeful Mind
I am a broken girl with a hopeful mind
I wonder why that even works I see my nails that I put off repainting I want my dog to know I love him I am a broken girl with a hopeful mind I pretend that I don’t care I feel fine but also “fine” I touch the curls in my hair I worry that I’ll let you down I cry for a lot of reasons I am a broken girl with a hopeful mind I understand I don’t make sense I say, “It doesnt matter” I dream of having everything and nothing at all I try to stay positive, and for the most part it works I hope I’ll figure this out I am a broken girl with a hopeful mind |
Spine Poem: Inspired by The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
The story goes something like this. There once was a
Knife that shone silver in the sun, but no one speaks
of it anymore because there was
Never a soul who could find it. Many went crazy
Letting this story run to wildly in their heads. They couldn’t just
Go back to the way things were, and they slowly collapsed into madness.

Never a soul who could find it. Many went crazy
Letting this story run to wildly in their heads. They couldn’t just
Go back to the way things were, and they slowly collapsed into madness.
I'm Still Learning
I'm learning to let it go
And I'm learning to deal with new things
And I'm learning to be brave
Not scared , when I need to take a risk
And I'm learning not to be so hard on myself
And I'm learning not to think I’m alone
And I'm learning (though it sometimes really hurts me)
Not to be so shy
And I'm learning to keep my chin up
When I might do something wrong
And I'm learning that it's much
Much easier to be born perfect, but then life wouldn’t be as fun
And I'm learning to deal with new things
And I'm learning to be brave
Not scared , when I need to take a risk
And I'm learning not to be so hard on myself
And I'm learning not to think I’m alone
And I'm learning (though it sometimes really hurts me)
Not to be so shy
And I'm learning to keep my chin up
When I might do something wrong
And I'm learning that it's much
Much easier to be born perfect, but then life wouldn’t be as fun
My Favorite Color
Blue
The lakes that surround us, The sky above, The softest blanket in our house. Rain falling on a rooftop in the middle of the night, Rivers rushing down mountains in Tennessee, Screaming as you go down the biggest water-slide in the park. All of it’s made up flavors, like blue raspberry and etc. Mixed Berry Powerade on a hot summer day, Ice slowly melting on your tongue. The cold that seeps through your gloves to your fingers on a winter day, Those few moments of peace before you finally fall asleep, That shock you get when you first jump in a pool, Blue can be found anywhere. |
The Top of my Bookshelf
What’s on top of my bookshelf?
One little robot that I built last Christmas A box full of memories That picture of some of my favorite people A plaque that perfectly describes me Six figurines of characters I love dearly My bucket of uneaten Halloween candy* “The Tessaract” which is really just a blue foam cube (don’t tell Thanos) A resting place for my phone when I plug it in to charge *not pictured |
How I Get Lost (Septet)
I Used To
I used to not worry so much
But now I overthink about overthinking I always have headphones on me But I never seem to have a charger I once didn’t know the words to any of their songs But now I have every album memorized If I could change one thing I would make people happier I never thought I could get lost in lyrics But I might never make it back now I can't imagine a world without my dog But I can think of one without snakes I won't ever jump out of a plane But I might swim with sharks I used to not worry so much But now I hope I don’t have to as often |
